Internal Auditor – Choose Your Standard Focus
Plan, conduct and follow up internal audits in your selected management system: standard requirements, interviews, evidence and justified findings.
Scope and delivery
24 teaching units of 45 minutes = 18 clock hours over 3 course days, including 3 units (135 minutes) of final assessment per candidate. Teaching, supervised practice and case transfer occupy 21 units. Oral components use individually allocated, potentially parallel assessment slots. Breaks are excluded.

One selected standard course: 24 teaching units of 45 minutes over three days, including a 135-minute assessment per person, digital materials, guided audit casework, the initial assessment attempt and an Academy certificate after successful completion. Classroom delivery includes refreshments and professional exchange, not accommodation. ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001 have separate supplements. The expert witness add-on is quoted separately.

Assessment and completion
- Standard and audit knowledge: 45 minutes · 30 %
- Practical audit case: 60 minutes · 50 %
- Audit interview and professional discussion: 30 minutes · 20 %
A pass requires at least 70 of 100 weighted overall points and at least 60 of 100 points in every mandatory assessment component. In the practical component, the critical criterion “link between requirements and evidence” must achieve at least 2 of 4 rubric points. These thresholds are Academy policy; ISO/IEC 17024 does not prescribe these scores.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the selected standard and familiarity with organisational processes are required. Prior knowledge and audit experience are checked before the course; gaps must be addressed beforehand. No particular training provider certificate is required.
What the credential represents
An assessed Academy course certificate for the selected standard focus, recording 24 teaching units, assessment date and programme revision. This is not accredited personnel certification, a PECB, TÜV, DEKRA or CQI/IRCA qualification, or automatic authorisation to conduct third-party certification audits. The certificate is issued after successful completion and a documented decision, and is valid for at most three years from issuance. Renewal requires documented current knowledge and relevant application practice.
