Who should attend?
Professionals working in information & cybersecurity, with responsibilities appropriate to the selected course level.
Prerequisites
General knowledge of industrial automation and control systems (IACS) and ISA/IEC 62443 is required.
Course structure and delivery
The full course follows the 5-day PECB agenda. Learn live with a qualified trainer through exercises, discussion and practical cases. Online and classroom delivery cover the same content. Examination scheduling is agreed in line with the course agenda.
Online sessions are delivered live using alfaview. The Odoo portal provides course information and materials. Dates, teaching language and classroom location are agreed before the course starts.
Materials, examination and certification
The full course includes official PECB training materials, tuition in the selected format and the first PECB examination attempt.
The course prepares you for the PECB examination for ISA/IEC 62443 Lead Implementer. After passing the exam, you can apply for the corresponding PECB credential. PECB assesses eligibility and awards the credential. Depending on the credential level, additional evidence of professional and relevant practical experience is required. Attendance or a passed exam alone does not guarantee the full credential.
Option: 4 hours of exam preparation
An optional four-hour live exam preparation session is available for €650. It is intended for participants who are already studying independently and does not replace the complete PECB course. Materials and examination arrangements for this option are agreed separately in advance.
Teaching and examination language
Teaching languages: German, English or Hungarian. The selected teaching language is confirmed when scheduling the course. Hungarian is a teaching language for this PECB course only and is not a promised examination language. The examination language and the language of official PECB materials are agreed separately before booking.

Frequently asked questions about this course
Why is conventional IT security insufficient for a production plant?
OT protection must also consider availability, real-time performance and safety. An effective IT control can disrupt plant operations.
What prior knowledge do I need for Lead Implementer?
General knowledge of industrial automation and control systems and ISA/IEC 62443 is expected.
Are zones and conduits merely different names for VLANs?
No. Zones group systems by security requirements; conduits describe controlled connections. VLANs can contribute to their technical implementation.
What if legacy controllers cannot be patched regularly?
Assess operational risks and feasible safeguards together with operations staff. Segmentation and controlled access can provide additional protection.
Who is responsible when manufacturers and integrators are involved?
The asset owner needs its own security programme. Suppliers and service providers have complementary duties, coordinated throughout the lifecycle.
Must I replace an existing ISO 27001 system with ISA/IEC 62443?
No. ISA/IEC 62443 complements the ISMS with OT-specific requirements. Shared processes and plant-specific needs should be coordinated.
Does passing the exam alone give me the Lead Implementer title?
No. PECB also checks professional and project experience for the full title. The provisional level may apply without this evidence.
Is our plant automatically certified after I attend?
No. A personal qualification does not replace conformity assessment of a product, system or operational security programme.

| EasyELEarning Academy This course offer | The PECB programme covers security programmes for industrial automation and control systems, their lifecycle, risks, responsibilities and controls, including monitoring and incident management. | You learn to connect industrial operating requirements with a structured security programme and support its planning, implementation and improvement using ISA/IEC 62443. | PECB assesses the certification application after examination success. Full Implementer grades require relevant professional and practical experience; course participation alone does not replace those requirements. |
| ISA IACS Cybersecurity Design & Implementation (IC34) Related IEC 62443 specialisation in system design; a separate Design Specialist certificate. Provider’s courseAdditional source | IC34 covers risk-based system design, zones and conduits, segmentation, firewalls, hardening, remote access and security acceptance testing for industrial control systems. | You learn to translate risk assessment findings into technical security architectures and verify safeguards, with an emphasis on industrial system design. | ISA awards the Cybersecurity Design Specialist Certificate after the course and examination. The Fundamentals Specialist certificate is required; this is not a PECB credential. |
| TÜV Rheinland Cybersecurity Design + Implementation Related IEC 62443 training for design and implementation; a different personal credential. Provider’s courseAdditional source | The programme covers industrial cybersecurity design and implementation under IEC 62443. Connected case studies follow the technical design and implementation process for IACS. | You work through industrial implementation scenarios linking cybersecurity to engineering, operations and maintenance responsibilities. The offer targets technical professionals with relevant backgrounds. | The TÜV Rheinland CySec Specialist certificate requires examination success, relevant industrial experience and technical qualifications or equivalent evidence under its own programme. |
