Frequently asked questions about this course
How is Master Black Belt different from Black Belt?
The focus expands from individual improvement projects to an effective improvement programme. The Academy course addresses supporting other Belts, project portfolios, benefit assessment and shared methodological standards. It develops your experience towards programme governance, helping others and embedding improvement practices sustainably across the organisation.
Is Master Black Belt useful immediately after Black Belt?
The course is intended for experienced Black Belts and people responsible for improvement programmes. Black Belt knowledge and project experience are recommended. Before booking, we consider whether you have enough practical experience for coaching, portfolio decisions and methodological standards to connect meaningfully with your responsibilities.
Is the course mainly about learning more statistics?
The Academy offer emphasises the organisational impact of your methodological expertise. This includes developing other Belts, aligning improvement programmes and evaluating a portfolio of projects. Analytical confidence remains important, but the course is not presented as simply a collection of additional calculation techniques.
Will I learn to support Green and Black Belts?
Supporting and developing Belts is one of the learning objectives. The emphasis is on asking useful questions, making methodological decisions understandable and encouraging project owners to work independently. Completing the course does not automatically provide formal trainer authorisation from another certification body.
How does the course help when too many improvement projects run at once?
Project-portfolio and benefit assessment are explicit areas of focus. You consider projects in relation to objectives, available resources and shared methodological standards. This helps you justify priorities rather than treating each local improvement as equally important in isolation.
Is the Academy Master Black Belt equivalent to an ASQ Master Black Belt?
No. This course awards the Academy’s own course certificate under the agreed completion requirements. Other issuing bodies have their own admission, examination and evidence-assessment procedures. Compare the intended award with your employer’s or client’s requirements before deciding which offer to choose.
Does my organisation already need a complete Six Sigma programme?
The course profile does not state that a fully established programme is a universal entry condition. We discuss your experience, responsibilities and intended application before booking. A concrete organisational context is helpful, however, when relating portfolio, Belt development and methodological standards to real decisions.
How are duration and delivery arranged?
Master Black Belt follows an individual course plan. We agree the scope, dates and online or classroom delivery around the learning objectives. Tell us about your previous Belt experience, current programme responsibilities and the areas in which you specifically want to develop.
