Who should attend?
Professionals working in information & cybersecurity, with responsibilities appropriate to the selected course level.
Prerequisites
A fundamental understanding of ISO/IEC 27017 and ISO/IEC 27018, together with general knowledge of cloud computing, is required.
Course structure and delivery
The full course follows the 5-day PECB agenda. Learn live with a qualified trainer through exercises, discussion and practical cases. Online and classroom delivery cover the same content. Examination scheduling is agreed in line with the course agenda.
Online sessions are delivered live using alfaview. The Odoo portal provides course information and materials. Dates, teaching language and classroom location are agreed before the course starts.
Materials, examination and certification
The full course includes official PECB training materials, tuition in the selected format and the first PECB examination attempt.
The course prepares you for the PECB examination for Lead Cloud Security Manager. After passing the exam, you can apply for the corresponding PECB credential. PECB assesses eligibility and awards the credential. Depending on the credential level, additional evidence of professional and relevant practical experience is required. Attendance or a passed exam alone does not guarantee the full credential.
Option: 4 hours of exam preparation
An optional four-hour live exam preparation session is available for €650. It is intended for participants who are already studying independently and does not replace the complete PECB course. Materials and examination arrangements for this option are agreed separately in advance.
Teaching and examination language
Teaching languages: German, English or Hungarian. The selected teaching language is confirmed when scheduling the course. Hungarian is a teaching language for this PECB course only and is not a promised examination language. The examination language and the language of official PECB materials are agreed separately before booking.

Frequently asked questions about this course
What does shared responsibility mean for our organisation in practice?
The division of tasks depends on the cloud service. Start with a list of decisions you make: who grants access, configures sharing, protects data and reviews unusual activity? Compare this list with the provider’s actual service scope rather than relying on a general statement that the cloud is secure.
Is the course limited to AWS, Azure or another individual provider?
Lead Cloud Security Manager addresses cloud security management across providers. This is useful when assessing several services or coordinating responsibilities. Operating a particular platform also requires its documentation and, where appropriate, technical training. A management qualification does not replace hands-on experience with the products you will actually use.
What roles do ISO/IEC 27017 and ISO/IEC 27018 play?
The standards have different emphases: cloud-related security controls and protection of personal information in public cloud services. For a project, first clarify the data, parties and service model involved. This makes it easier to identify the relevant expectations for both the provider and your own operating processes.
Do we still have security tasks when using a ready-made SaaS application?
Yes. You still need to govern how your organisation uses the application. Who may invite external guests? What information may be uploaded? What happens when an employee leaves? Choosing a well-known provider does not answer these questions; they need to be reflected in your own operating arrangements.
Why do identities and permissions matter so much in cloud projects?
Access connects people, applications and data. Look beyond sign-in and consider the full lifecycle: granting rights, changing them, reviewing them and removing them. A useful project example is a role change in which old permissions accidentally remain while new ones are added, creating access nobody intended.
Is a cloud provider’s security certificate enough for our own use case?
Check what the evidence actually covers. Does the assessed service match your use, and which tasks remain yours? Add practical questions about configuration, contacts and incidents to the document review. Assurance is most useful when you understand its boundaries and connect it to the way your organisation uses the service.
What should we prepare for a security incident in the cloud?
Clarify which logs are available, who may access them and how to contact the provider. Also discuss decisions: who can disable access or restrict a service? These arrangements are easier to establish before an incident than during a disruption when the available information is incomplete and responsibilities are unclear.
What background is useful for Lead Cloud Security Manager?
Basic information security knowledge and an understanding of the cloud services you work with are helpful. Prepare an anonymised service overview showing data flows and responsibilities so you can identify gaps in your understanding. Check the requirements of a later PECB certification level separately from your preparation for learning.
