Prerequisites

General knowledge of AI management systems (AIMS) and ISO/IEC 42001 is required.

Schedule and learning format

Book the complete course as live online training or in-person training. Both formats follow the same syllabus. The five-day PECB agenda comprises four training days and an exam on day five or at a separately agreed time.

  1. Choose your format and agree the schedule
  2. Work through the materials, practise and discuss your questions
  3. Complete the assessment and meet the credential requirements

Materials, assessment and credential

The official PECB materials, training in the booked format, registration and the fee for the first PECB examination attempt are included. After passing the examination, you can apply for the corresponding PECB credential. The full PECB Lead Implementer credential requires additional evidence of professional experience and relevant implementation activities. The attainable implementer credential level depends on the applicable PECB scheme and your evidence. Passing the examination alone does not guarantee the Lead Implementer title.

Additional option: 4 hours of exam preparation

The information about multi-day training applies to the full online and in-person courses. The €650 preparation option includes four hours of live exam preparation for participants studying the subject independently. It does not replace a full PECB course. Please agree materials and exam booking with us in advance.

Frequently asked questions about this course

What is the practical goal of the Implementer course?

You learn to plan, introduce and improve an AI management system. The focus is a functioning organisational framework.

Can I start without basic ISO/IEC 42001 knowledge?

PECB expects general knowledge of AI management systems and ISO/IEC 42001. If that foundation is missing, we recommend Foundation first.

Do responsibilities remain when we use a third-party AI model?

Risks from external resources still need assessment and monitoring in your deployment context. A supplier report does not replace assessment of your specific use.

Why should we consider impacts on people separately?

An AI application can affect individuals, groups and society. A structured impact assessment makes these effects visible and supports documented decisions.

Is the AI management system finished after the first rollout?

No. Uses, risks and models can change. Monitoring, incident handling and improvement therefore belong to ongoing operation.

Is implementation only the IT department’s responsibility?

The management system connects policies, objectives, responsibilities and processes. Relevant business functions depend on AI use cases and the organisational context.

Do I automatically receive full Lead status after the exam?

No. PECB also checks the required professional and project experience. Without suitable evidence, the Provisional level may be appropriate initially.

Can I take the complete course entirely live online?

Yes. The full course is available live online or in a classroom and includes four training days plus the exam. The four-hour variant is only additional exam preparation after self-study.
