Your next step in professional development

How can security become an integral part of your applications? You plan an application security programme based on ISO/IEC 27034, connect controls to the software life cycle and develop processes for reviewing and improving them.

What you will learn

  • Application security fundamentals and scope
  • Organizational Normative Framework (ONF) and responsibilities
  • Application Security Controls
  • Security across the software and application life cycle
  • Implementation, monitoring and security incident handling
  • Effectiveness reviews, continual improvement and audit preparation

Who is this course for?

Application security professionals, software developers and architects, IT security managers and secure application consultants.

Prerequisites

General knowledge of application security concepts and ISO/IEC 27034 is required.

Schedule and learning format

Book the complete course as live online training or in-person training. Both formats follow the same syllabus. The five-day PECB agenda comprises four training days and an exam on day five or at a separately agreed time.

  1. Choose your format and agree the schedule
  2. Work through the materials, practise and discuss your questions
  3. Complete the assessment and meet the credential requirements

Materials, assessment and credential

The official PECB materials, training in the booked format, registration and the fee for the first PECB examination attempt are included. After passing the examination, you can apply for the corresponding PECB credential. The full PECB Lead Implementer credential requires additional evidence of professional experience and relevant implementation activities. The attainable implementer credential level depends on the applicable PECB scheme and your evidence. Passing the examination alone does not guarantee the Lead Implementer title.

Additional option: 4 hours of exam preparation

The information about multi-day training applies to the full online and in-person courses. The €650 preparation option includes four hours of live exam preparation for participants studying the subject independently. It does not replace a full PECB course. Please agree materials and exam booking with us in advance.

Frequently asked questions about this course

When is Implementer a better fit than Auditor?

Choose it when your task is to build and operate an AppSec programme. Implementer connects planning, delivery and improvement; Auditor focuses on assessment.

Do we need to introduce a complete AppSec programme at once?

No. A risk-based maturity approach supports prioritised, measurable steps. Start with the most important gaps rather than an unmanageable list of tools.

What knowledge do I need for the implementation level?

PECB expects general knowledge of application security and ISO/IEC 27034. The course builds on that; it is not introductory programming training.

How do shared rules become useful for an individual project?

The ONF provides the shared framework. Relevant controls are specified for a project in its ANF, together with evidence of implementation.

Can secure development work with agile delivery?

Yes. NIST SSDF describes security practices that can be integrated into different development lifecycles. Security work need not begin only before release.

Does application security still matter when a supplier develops the software?

Yes. Outsourced development is within scope. Clear security requirements and verifiable delivery evidence remain important with external development teams.

Do I automatically receive the Lead Implementer title after the exam?

No. PECB also checks the experience required for the credential you apply for. A Provisional credential may be appropriate without that experience.

How should I schedule the course alongside my development project?

Allow four training days plus the exam. At EasyELEarning Academy, choose live online or classroom delivery; we agree the date and teaching language before booking.
