Materials, assessment and credential
The official PECB materials, training in the booked format, registration and the fee for the first PECB examination attempt are included. After passing the examination, you can apply for the corresponding PECB credential. The full PECB Lead Auditor credential requires additional evidence of professional experience and relevant audit activities. The attainable auditor credential level depends on the applicable PECB scheme and your evidence. Passing the examination alone does not guarantee the Lead Auditor title.
Additional option: 4 hours of exam preparation
The information about multi-day training applies to the full online and in-person courses. The €650 preparation option includes four hours of live exam preparation for participants studying the subject independently. It does not replace a full PECB course. Please agree materials and exam booking with us in advance.

Frequently asked questions about this course
What does an Application Security Auditor assess besides vulnerabilities?
The auditor also assesses how application security is governed, implemented and maintained, using processes, controls and verifiable evidence.
Can I start with Lead Auditor without AppSec experience?
PECB requires familiarity with application security concepts and in-depth knowledge of its principles. Foundation is a better starting point if these are missing.
What evidence is more useful than a list of passed scans?
Connect requirements to architecture decisions, test reports and documented remediation. This shows which risks were assessed and what remains unresolved.
Can an automated tool replace a complete ASVS assessment?
ASVS is a requirements catalogue, not a single scanner. Each requirement needs a suitable verification method; one tool report cannot demonstrate complete coverage.
How can I avoid conflicts when auditing my own projects?
Arrange independent responsibilities where practicable. Audit findings should rest on verifiable evidence, rather than approval of your own design.
Is ISO/IEC 27034 an organisational certification like ISO/IEC 27001?
PECB describes ISO/IEC 27034 as non-certifiable guidance. The auditor credential belongs to an individual; it does not certify an organisation.
Are all five days teaching days?
Our full course comprises four training days and the exam as the fifth component. We arrange the exam date; live online and classroom formats are available.
Is the four-hour option a complete auditor training course?
No. It provides focused exam preparation after independent study. Choose the multi-day full course for the complete tutor-led learning route.
