Frequently asked questions about this course
How does a data protection manager differ from a data protection officer?
Our course focuses on organising a data protection management system: processes, responsibilities, documentation and coordination. A statutory data protection officer has advisory and independent monitoring responsibilities. Completing this course does not replace any required appointment or assessment of the expertise and organisational conditions needed for that role.
Do I need to be a lawyer or IT specialist to attend?
The offer is intended for privacy coordinators, compliance teams and process owners. The course profile does not specify a particular university degree as a fixed entry requirement. We discuss prior knowledge and learning objectives before booking so that legal, organisational and technical interfaces can be considered in the appropriate context.
What does a data protection management system mean in everyday work?
It connects individual privacy tasks into an understandable organisational process. This includes clear roles, documented workflows, coordination of measures and regular review of implementation. The course helps you understand how these elements fit together so that information can move reliably between business functions and management.
Is the course only about documents, or does it address implementation?
Documentation is one element, alongside roles, processes, coordination of actions, reporting and improvement. The aim is a system in which work can actually be carried out and tracked. A collection of templates alone does not establish who will implement which actions and by when.
Will the course help me work with IT, HR and senior management?
Yes. Working with business functions and management is an explicit part of the course profile. You examine how responsibilities, information and decisions connect. This is particularly useful when privacy work is spread across several teams and actions cannot be implemented by one central function alone.
How is the course structured, and is there an examination?
The current offer consists of twelve modules and twelve knowledge checks. A 70-question examination is planned at the end. We agree the detailed schedule with you. Once the specified completion requirements have been met, you receive the EasyELEarning Academy course certificate.
Does the certificate guarantee that our organisation complies with data protection law?
The certificate documents your course completion under the Academy’s requirements. It is not a comprehensive assessment of every processing activity in your organisation. Actual implementation must reflect the relevant data, purposes, responsibilities and risks, and be maintained in practice. Training supports that work but does not replace it.
Can I immediately work independently as an external data protection officer afterwards?
That cannot be inferred from a single course certificate. Expertise, experience, specific responsibilities and possible conflicts of interest need to be assessed for the role. Our offer focuses on privacy management and governance. Before booking, clarify whether you are aiming for an operational management role or a data protection officer position.
