Assessment and Certificate Rules

Understand the requirements an Academy course qualification must meet and how learning outcomes, assessment and certificate authorisation connect. Your course programme defines the specific content and assessment tasks.

ELA-PRG-RAHMENRevision 1.0 · 31 October 2026

What this assessment framework covers

EasyELEarning Academy explains which competencies its own courses develop, how they are assessed and under which conditions Academy certificates may be released. This framework applies together with the curriculum and assessment plan for the individual programme.

These rules apply to assessments whose course and assessment plan expressly references this revision. Existing bookings retain their agreed conditions unless a change is agreed. Publication does not change existing contracts.

The programmes draw on selected principles of ISO/IEC 17024:2026: traceable competence requirements, suitable assessment methods, transparent scoring, managed conflicts of interest and documented decisions. The standard addresses personnel certification bodies and their schemes. Publishing a course description alone does not demonstrate full conformity with the standard.

  • Award: an Academy course certificate after successful assessment.
  • This is not accredited personnel certification under ISO/IEC 17024.
  • PECB examinations and other external qualifications follow the rules of the respective awarding body.
  • The curriculum and completion requirements apply to the full learning pathway. A four-hour preparation session, short format or refresher does not automatically satisfy them; the shorter scope is identified separately.
  • For programmes with a practice phase or portfolio, the final qualification certificate may be authorised only after all mandatory components have been completed and assessed successfully. A theory-stage or attendance record is labelled accordingly.

A defined programme before enrolment

Each course has a programme code and dated revision. Before a binding booking, its curriculum, learning volume, entry requirements, assessment methods, timing, weighting, pass rules, permitted aids and credential type must be defined. Individually scheduled offers use a written course and assessment plan to supplement the published core requirements.

The revision identified in the booking confirmation governs the agreed delivery. Changes during a course must not retrospectively make the agreed completion requirements more demanding. Necessary changes must be explained in good time and agreed with participants.

  • One teaching unit (UE) is 45 minutes; clock hours are stated separately.
  • Teaching, supervised exercises, independent study or project work, and assessment are identified separately.
  • For individually tailored programmes, participants receive the specific schedule before a binding booking.

Alignment with our AZAV quality management

Our course and certificate requirements are linked to document control, responsibilities and evidence management within our AZAV quality management. Publishing an Academy programme does not automatically make it an approved AZAV training measure. Funded delivery requires the appropriate provider approval, specific measure, approved delivery format and valid measure revision.

For each delivery, the versioned course file must bring together the audience, occupational relevance, admission, learning outcomes, hours and learning formats, qualified teaching staff, learner support, assessment plan and evidence. For an AZAV measure, this file must be checked against the corresponding measure revision. Changes to duration, format, practical phases or qualifications must be reviewed before being incorporated into an approved measure.

  • AUTHOR: creates and maintains the curriculum, assessment plan and supporting evidence as controlled documents.
  • REVIEWER: independently reviews the document revision with suitable expertise. This governance role alone does not establish competence to assess individual candidates.
  • MANAGER: maintains governance master data, roles and policies. The responsible AZAV management makes an independently reviewed document revision effective.
  • AUDITOR: receives read-only access to governance and audit records. Competence and independence for an actual audit assignment must be established separately.
  • ADMIN: administers controlled role profiles, assignments and approval policies. Administrative permissions do not replace a competent assessment or certificate decision.
  • Suitable people are separately appointed for teaching, practical supervision, assessment and certificate decisions. Their competence, responsibilities and conflicts of interest must be checked before delivery; changes are documented.

The course and assessment evidence file

The course file connects the agreed programme revision with actual delivery. Progress and support needs are recorded; feedback, complaints and corrective actions inform improvement. Attendance and assessment success are recorded separately. Instructor-led qualitative AZAV progress observations and support remain separate from scored Academy final assessments; a progress observation does not trigger an automatic certificate decision.

An attendance statement records the content, duration and dates actually completed. A failed assessment must not be misrepresented through an inappropriate competence certificate. The Academy competence certificate requires all mandatory assessment and practical evidence as well as separate authorisation.

  • Course identifier, curriculum and measure revisions, admission assessment and agreed participation terms.
  • Competence and appointment evidence for teachers, mentors, assessors and the certificate authoriser.
  • Timetable, attendance, learner support, actual exercises and documented technical disruptions.
  • Assessment version, rubric, individual scores, feedback, revisions and a reasoned completion decision.
  • For the DPO programme and AI Pass, the practical agreement, supervision, recurring assignments, evidence of independent work and approved final portfolio.
  • Certificate identifier, issue date, expiry date, authorisation and any later renewal decision.
  • Evaluation, complaints, deviations and verified improvement actions with appropriate access controls.

Entry, prior learning and fair conditions

The course page distinguishes recommended prior knowledge from mandatory entry conditions. Mandatory conditions are checked before enrolment is accepted through appropriate evidence or a documented placement discussion. Equivalent knowledge gained through work or other training may be recognised where it meets the programme criteria.

Reasonable adjustments to assessment conditions may be requested before the examination. These may include accessible materials, appropriate technical support or justified additional time. The competence being assessed and the professional standard remain unchanged.

  • The teaching language and examination language are stated explicitly.
  • Academy-owned offers are intended in German and English; Hungarian instruction applies only to PECB formats expressly offered in that language.
  • An attendance record and a successfully assessed course qualification are different forms of evidence.

Connecting learning outcomes with assessment tasks

The assessment plan links every essential learning outcome to at least one suitable form of evidence. Knowledge questions assess concepts and relationships. Cases, work samples, project documents, role plays or professional discussions demonstrate application to work. A substantial claim to practical competence must not rest solely on recognising answers.

Before use, tasks, expected responses and scoring rubrics must undergo a subject review. Assessors must be competent in the subject and in scoring the chosen assessment format. Where several assessors are involved, their interpretation of the criteria should be calibrated using shared examples.

  • Assessment records identify the task version, programme revision, examination date and rubric used.
  • Practice tasks may explain the format; live assessment tasks and solutions remain protected.
  • Results and feedback inform programme improvement; changes are version-controlled.

Transparent scoring and pass rules

The Academy default is at least 70% of the weighted overall score and at least 60% in every mandatory assessment component. Any critical criteria expressly identified in the programme must also be met. A strong result in one component cannot compensate for a failed mandatory component or an unmet critical criterion.

Component weights and professionally justified programme-specific variations are published in the assessment plan before enrolment. These numerical rules are Academy design decisions; ISO/IEC 17024 does not prescribe a universal pass score, examination length or question count.

  • Closed knowledge questions carry no negative marks. Partial credit is available only where the scoring scheme provides for it in advance.
  • Practical performance is scored against defined criteria; a 0–4 rubric for each criterion supports traceability.
  • Critical criteria are limited to essential abilities identified in advance, such as reliable evidence, professionally safe decisions or appropriate handling of confidential information.

Identity, permitted aids and AI

The candidate’s identity must be verified through suitable evidence before the final assessment. Online examination technology, supervision and the response to connection failures are explained in advance. Checking identity does not automatically require retaining a copy of an identity document.

External assistance and generative AI are not permitted in supervised knowledge examinations, oral examinations or role plays unless the programme expressly identifies them as a permitted aid or an assessment subject. AI may be permitted in project work where its use and sources are disclosed, outputs are professionally checked and the candidate demonstrates their own contribution in a discussion.

  • Permitted aids are listed positively; an unlisted aid is not automatically allowed.
  • Confidential or personal information must not be entered into external tools without appropriate authorisation.
  • A certificate decision must not rely solely on an unchecked AI score. A competent person must review and take responsibility for the assessment.
  • Suspected misconduct is documented and the candidate has an opportunity to respond. The reasoned decision and any retake conditions follow the published assessment plan.

Assessment, conflicts and certificate authorisation

Because the Academy provides both training and its own course qualification, potential conflicts of interest must be addressed explicitly. Each delivery must identify programme responsibility, assessment responsibility and final certificate authorisation. The person authorising the certificate decision must not have trained or examined that candidate.

Before a certificate is authorised, fulfilled entry conditions, complete assessment evidence, scoring and the decision must be documented. Where an assessor also delivered training, additional controls must be defined, such as a second subject assessment of practical work. Where suitable roles or evidence are missing, a successful result must not be represented as authorised.

Before an assessment under this framework is offered on a binding basis, suitable assessors and separate authorisation, subject-reviewed tasks and rubrics, identity and supervision procedures, and an appeals process must be in place.

  • Sales interests, personal relationships or a target pass rate must not alter professional scoring.
  • A conflict must be declared and the affected assessment or decision assigned to another suitable person.
  • Publishing these requirements does not replace evidence that the controls were performed for the actual assessment.

Results, feedback and retakes

Participants receive a traceable result summary showing components, scores, the pass decision and feedback on unmet criteria. Results should normally be authorised within 14 calendar days after all required assessment work is complete; necessary delays must be explained.

Failed mandatory components may normally be retaken twice within twelve months. Passed components may be recognised where the learning outcomes and assessment requirements have not changed in the meantime. A retake uses a new task of equivalent professional demand. Retake charges and dates are communicated before a binding retake arrangement.

  • A documented technical interruption that leaves no assessable candidate performance does not count as a failed attempt.
  • Where misconduct is established, whether and under what conditions a retake is allowed is addressed in a separate reasoned decision.
  • Any different programme-specific retake rule must be defined before the original enrolment.

Appeals and complaints

A participant seeking review of an admission, assessment or certificate decision may send a reasoned appeal to studies@easyelearning.academy. For prompt resolution, this should be submitted within four weeks after notification. Receipt should normally be acknowledged within seven calendar days. A suitable person who was not involved in the challenged decision must conduct the review.

Complaints about delivery, conduct or organisational arrangements may be submitted through the same contact. Appeals and complaints are recorded separately from the original assessment. The outcome is explained with reasons; proper use of the process must not disadvantage a participant in future examinations.

  • The internal four-week recommendation does not restrict statutory rights.
  • Information collected in the process is accessible only to the responsible people.
  • A documented conclusion and any required corrective action form part of handling the matter.

What the Academy certificate records

An Academy certificate records successfully assessed competence within its stated scope and is valid for no more than three years from issue. It is not an accredited personnel certification. Limited validity does not replace continuing professional development or a separately agreed surveillance process.

The certificate identifies the issuing Academy, the verified individual, programme title and revision, assessed scope, examination, issue and expiry dates, a unique certificate identifier and authorised approval. Learning volume distinguishes teaching and, where applicable, assessment or project work. Only work actually assessed successfully may be certified.

  • A course certificate does not replace statutory appointment, regulatory permission, professional recognition or external vendor certification.
  • For Cambridge preparation, the Academy course qualification is not a Cambridge C1 Advanced examination result.
  • Authenticity enquiries may be sent to studies@easyelearning.academy with the certificate identifier. A public personal register entry or QR verification service is promised only where it actually exists for that certificate.
  • Established false information or an improperly obtained result may lead to a reasoned correction or withdrawal after the affected person has had an opportunity to respond.

Confidentiality and retention

Assessment tasks, solutions, individual results and submitted work samples must be protected against unauthorised access. People with access must be bound by confidentiality and their specific assessment role. Cases and projects use anonymised or authorised information.

Before enrolment, the relevant privacy information must explain processing purposes, access, retention periods and individual rights. This framework does not impose blanket permanent retention of all assessment information. Certificate authenticity enquiries are handled with data minimisation and an assessment of the request.

Validity: a maximum of three years

Academy-owned competence certificates are valid for no more than three years from their issue date. The certificate explicitly records its issue and expiry dates. Any shorter validity must be stated in the agreed programme. Validity starts only after all mandatory components have been successfully assessed and the certificate decision authorised.

For the DPO programme, validity starts after the theory examination, the complete twelve-month traineeship with twelve approved practical assignments, the final defence and certificate authorisation. An interim theory or attendance record does not start the final DPO certificate’s validity.

Renewal is neither automatic nor available solely on payment. Current programme-specific competence and its application are reviewed using suitable evidence before expiry. Depending on the programme, this includes recent work samples or practice records, professional updating and an appropriate knowledge or practical assessment or professional discussion. Scope, scoring, fees and deadlines must be provided in writing before renewal is agreed.

A documented positive assessment and a new separate authorisation are required for a renewed certificate with new issue and expiry dates, again for no more than three years. After expiry, the earlier completion may still be cited as a historical qualification, but not as a currently valid Academy competence certificate. External qualifications, including PECB credentials, retain their own validity and renewal rules.

Programme questions

Is the Academy certificate accredited personnel certification?

No. It is an Academy-owned qualification for assessed course completion. Designing the programme with reference to selected principles of ISO/IEC 17024:2026 is neither accreditation nor a blanket demonstration of full conformity.

What does “with reference to ISO/IEC 17024” mean here?

We define competencies, connect learning outcomes to assessment tasks and set rules for scoring, conflicts of interest, decisions and appeals. The published programme states the course requirements. Implementation must be evidenced for each assessment.

Does ISO/IEC 17024 require a 70% pass mark?

No. The Academy determines and justifies its thresholds and weights. The shared starting point is 70% overall, at least 60% in every mandatory component and fulfilled critical criteria. Variations must appear in the course programme before enrolment.

Can work experience replace a specified preparatory course?

Where the programme permits equivalent knowledge, evidenced work experience or other learning may be recognised. Admission is checked and documented before enrolment is accepted.

May I use AI in the final assessment?

Only where the assessment plan expressly permits it. External assistance is generally not allowed in supervised knowledge examinations or professional discussions. Where AI is permitted in projects, its use must be disclosed and your own professional contribution demonstrated.

What happens if I fail one component?

The result summary identifies unmet criteria. Normally, failed mandatory components may be retaken twice within twelve months. Dates, recognition of passed components and any charges are clarified before the retake.

How long is the Academy certificate valid?

No more than three years from issue after all completion requirements have been fulfilled. The expiry date appears on the certificate. Renewal requires a new assessment of current competence and its application against the programme requirements, followed by separate authorisation. There is no automatic extension.

How can I challenge an assessment decision?

Send a reasoned appeal to studies@easyelearning.academy, preferably within four weeks. A suitable person who was not involved in the challenged decision must conduct the review. Statutory rights are unaffected.

Can the Academy issue a Cambridge or PECB certificate?

External qualifications are awarded by the responsible external bodies under their rules. An Academy preparation-course qualification replaces neither a Cambridge examination nor a PECB certification decision.
